A professional network marketer does not sell, he promotes. Promoting is not selling; you simply put your offer in front ofpre-qualified prospects and let them decide to choose yourproduct. But you already laid down all the reasons why yourprospects should choose your product or business opportunity. When you look at a traditional market, you see a display ofdifferent items, all arranged in a buy-me fashion to invite theprospects to make the purchase.
In the same way, we should show our business opportunity to ourprospects, and let them see the benefits; what’s in it forthem. The pressure to get people in our down line turns us intosalespeople, and people don’t like to be sold. People want tochoose by themselves what’s in their best interest, not yours. If you are considering the Internet to promote your businessopportunity, here’s an analogy I thought of when I started topromote on the Internet. Imagine a street or place full ofpeople (prospects); that’s your physical scenario.
Now imagine a platform where millions of people interact on adaily basis, chatting, e-mailing, blogging, reading, searching, watching videos, shopping, the possibilities are unlimited. Thisis your virtual scenario when you see the potential of theInternet and what it can do for your business.
The network marketing industry and the Internet have combinedthemselves as a perfect marriage. Automation is at the heart ofthe network marketing industry and the Internet is the king ofautomation. Technology will never replace the pleasure of aface-to-face conversation, but it can facilitate that initialcontact needed to get there.
